The desire for a low-barrier program is great, but far too often it does not come true. Why is that? It can't be due to a lack of budget alone. Rather, it's because in many processes, inclusive artist groups encounter various barriers that are not perceived by the organizers. Time for a change of perspective.
At this workshop, the Hamburg-based collective Meine Damen und Herren will draw attention to barriers from their practice and explore them together with the participants: What does accessible curation mean? What are the needs of collectives with artists with disabilities? On which levels of the programming process must barrier reduction be considered?
